There’s no need for an introduction before joining one of our Meetings. Just come along one Sunday from 10.30am and join in. You’ll find that we’re a warm and welcoming group, where a friendly welcome is always guaranteed.
The main parking area is through the gate way to the left in the field.
Adjacent to the front of the Meeting house for those who might have difficulty with the distance or negotiating the rough grass.
There is limited designated parking for disabled people adjacent to the main building. Follow the signs from the front gate. Due to the limitation of accessible parking space we request that non-disabled drivers ‘drop off’ their disabled passengers and then move their vehicle into the general parking area outside. Thank you for your co-operation with this.
We are constantly trying to improve our accessibility and to identify and remove those barriers that make it difficult for some of our visitors. We have had a hearing loop system installed (for those using hearing aids). There is a single small step into the Meeting House and we have a ramp easily available if needed. An accessible WC is available near the drop-off parking space.
Support dogs, including guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome. Please let us know if you require a quiet/secure area for your support animals during your stay here.
Disabled visitors are asked to make provision for their own support workers, including Sign Language Interpreters and PA’s if required.
Not all of our designated pathways are fully accessible so please take care when negotiating these. Advice and assistance is always at hand during regular Meeting times and during other events so please ask.
If there is anything that you feel that could be done to further improve access to Spiceland, then please let us know. Further information about access to our Quaker meeting can be obtained by accessing the Quaker Disability Access Group web site. Click here for more information.
People of all ages are welcome to any Meeting at Spiceland. We do not, currently, offer special provision for children but on the second Sunday of even months (Feb, April, June, August, October & December) our usual Sunday Meeting for Worship is replaced by All Age worship. This is a shorter Meeting for Worship and usually involves some form of activity suitable for children as well as some silence. See our Contact page
